A waterproof, warm and durable jacket. Thanks to its 3-in-1 capabilities, it provides rain protection and warmth in accordance with the weather conditions. With its removable fleece lining, a hood that can be rolled up in the collar and zipped pockets, this modular jacket is a great solution for trekking in all seasons.
3-in-1 to adapt to every situation
With the “3-in-1” system, the jacket is perfect for cold conditions (down to 0°C). For travelling in warm weather, you can leave the inner layer at home and just take the rain jacket. You can also wear the fleece by itself like a mid-layer over a T-shirt.
Did you know that this jacket is eco-designed?
Our design choices reduce our CO2 emissions by 13% compared to the previous model thanks to these actions:
– The main material on this jacket is made from 100% recycled polyamide.
– The mesh inside the jacket is made from 100% recycled polyester and is dyed using a bulk dyeing technique known as “dope dyeing” that involves adding all the colour pigments when the yarn is manufactured thereby avoiding the need for dye baths. – The lining on the sleeves and the fleece are made from 100% recycled polyester.
Fleece made from recycled plastic bottles
The lining on the sleeves and the fleece are made from recycled polyester. What does this mean? As well as being technical, this product has been designed taking into account its environmental impact. In brief: polyester yarn is made from oil. Using recycled polyester is to reclaim and repurpose waste products such as manufacturing remnants or plastic bottles instead of using new oil resources. And that’s already a step in the right direction isn’t it?
How is the thermal insulation of my jacket tested?
The jacket has undergone a thermal resistance test that measures the quantity of warmth lost between the body and outside environment. The lower this temperature, the more the product preserves body heat and therefore protects it from the cold outside. We placed the jacket on thermal mannequins that reproduce the heat emitted by the body and sweating. They are placed in temperature controlled rooms that go down to -40°C.
At which temperature will I be protected?
The Travel 100 jacket has been certified for temperatures down to 0°C. This means that it provides thermal comfort down to that temperature, if you wear the fleece with the waterproof jacket.
How is the waterproofing of a jacket measured?
The test is carried out in 3 stages:
– First, we check the quality of the waterproofing tape on the entire jacket.
– Then, the jacket is put under an artificial shower with a flow rate of 100 L/h for 3 hours.
– Under the jacket, the mannequin is wearing an absorbent fabric that darkens to indicate any moisture, in order to check the waterproofing of the product.
Which size should I choose?
This jacket was designed to be worn over a second layer garment (fleece, sweater).
Select your usual size for the best fit.
The jacket has a longline cut that stops at the middle of the buttocks.
You can tighten the waist thanks to the snap fasteners.
Adjust the hood using the drawcord around the face. Its depth is adjusted by a rip tab at the back of the head.
COMPONENT WATERPROOFING OF THIS JACKET
The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or H20 mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.
WATERPROOFNESS OF THIS JACKET
The waterproofness of a jacket isn’t limited to just its components: the assembly technique of the different parts is also an evaluation criterion.
Whether heat-sealed or sewn then waterproofed, the overall waterproofness of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rain of different intensities.
As such, the TRAVEL 100 waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e. 12 cm of rain in 2 hours.
